The other day I was reading a book for iOS development using Objective-C and iOS 4.0 SDK, and it had this sentence at the beginning:

If you are a developer and you have to program iOS devices or apps with C++, and/or doing heavy tasks on a Mac, let me suggest another good C/C++ IDE. It’s a tool called KDevelop, not the default visual text editor for the GNU/Linux operating systems. If you love the command line but don’t like dealing with the Terminal, KDevelop is the right tool for you! It’s just like a regular text editor for developers but it is also a robust source code development platform and even is used in some ways as an IDE by itself. It has been also shipped with KDE and is bundled with the development tools for many platforms like Mac OS X, Linux or Windows.
The GNU/Linux version of KDevelop is the first one I tried. I downloaded it from the official website, and it was installed in about 30 seconds. There are a few features you can switch on for debugging the program code, and you can enable external linking on the Mac. It runs on 64-bit Linux/Unix as well as on a 32-bit Windows operating system. Some features are very different in a 32-bit and a 64-bit version though. On Mac OS X, you can use Apple’s developer tools, and either use XCode or the command line to develop. The GNU/Linux version uses gcc and some other tools. Some features like plug-ins are not included, though.
KDevelop is one the most powerful and versatile tools out there! If you develop C++ programs, it’s definitely worth checking out, and I can recommend this product for sure!

I can’t wait to try this out. I love the webcrawler features of websites like this, but it’s very limited because you can’t set the number of threads for downloading. This would be great if you could set the number of threads.
What is it?
This application allows you to monitor the website urls which are the target of a web crawler. It can be accessed from a small window. It displays the most recent web pages first, and uses colors to make it easy to see if more pages are available.
How to use it?
Just put the urls ( in the main window, and click on the “My Site” icon. The urls appear in a list. You can monitor the urls on a specific date and time, or per day. Once the monitoring is finished, you can click on the “Save” button to save the list, or you can save the list in a text file.
What can it do?
– Display the urls which have been monitored for any given date and time
– Can be configured to display the urls of a specific day
– Can display an unlimited number of urls
– Displays a “Trends” button for showing the urls with the highest number of visits
– If NWebcrawler is installed, it uses it to download the urls automatically.
Limitations
– Can only monitor the urls of the first three pages of a website
– The history is written in text files, so you must have the program start in your startup folder
– Can’t read html files (HTML files are not displayed on the main window)
